Today, electric vehicles (EVs) have become the talking point among motor enthusiasts. They offer all of the benefits of driving a typical car, with few of the environmental drawbacks. However, the problem many have with buying EVs is the range they can get. A typical journey in a standard vehicle can last for much longer without needing a top-up. Some EVs, though, are able to provide exceptional performance and distance. What, though, are the most effective EVs for range?
Which are the longest range EVs on the market that you can buy today?
Mercedes-Benz EQS 450
While by no means cheap for the average person to own, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 promises ranges of 340-350 miles. Given it can cost six figures to buy, though, the average person isn’t going to be picking up one of these anytime soon!
However, it is capable of providing exceptional performance, with a 516HP electric motor. At the same time, the range of 340-350 miles is highly impressive – though as you read on, you will see it is not as high as others. Still, given the range previous EVs used to provide, that is still pretty impressive!
Tesla Model 3
Tesla are noted as the market leader in EVs due to their popularity and brand identity. The Model 3 is capable of providing a decent starting place. with a maximum range of 358 miles, it can just beat the Mercedes above. Still, it has a minimum of 272 miles, making it the least effective of the vehicles on our list in terms of minimum distance.
However, given it is around $46,500 in terms of price, topping out at just under $60,000, the Model 3 is the most price-friendly vehicle on this list. It is the most basic in terms of other features, too, but it is easily the most affordable EV on this list whilst still providing excellent range.
Audi e-Tron S
The Audi e-Tron S is a highly impressive vehicle, and is capable of providing as much as 372 miles. With a minimum of 344 miles, though, it can beat the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 by a smidgeon. It is an impressive vehicle, capable of providing as much as 496HP of power – weaker than the above, but still extremely powerful for a vehicle.
However, given it could be costing as much as $85,000, it is still within the high price line that we noted above with the Merc. That being said, this looks like one of Audi’s best EV offerings so far.
Lucid Air
Out of all of the EVs we have looked at, though, the Lucid Air might just be the best for distance alone. Capable of a whopping 520 miles and a minimum of 471 miles, this is the best overall solution on the market. It is capable of providing a ridiculous 1080HP, too, which makes it far more powerful than competitors who have appeared on this short list.
That being said, a cost of $139,000 means it is highly out of your typical price range for average buyers. If you want to spend big for range, though, the Lucid Air is the vote winner.
